Who Am I?

I am an avid learner and believe that our development continues across the lifespan not only with our careers, but with our personal, emotional, and mental development as well.  Each person we come in contact and each new adventure that we experience adds to our growth as a person.  Life is an extraordinary learning experience!

Continuing with my career development, I am an adult learner currently enrolled in the graduate counseling program at Messiah College, enrolled in the school counseling track.  I began my studies in October of 2009 and hope to complete my studies in May of 2014.  I recently completed my practicum at a local middle school and LOVED being a counselor intern for the sixth grade students.  There is something special about all middle school students, but I especially enjoyed working with this developmental age.  It was a reciprocal learning experience, and I am thankful for the opportunity that I enjoyed.

On a personal note, I am a mother of a high school adolescent who always makes me smile and continues to teach me lessons about life!  Parenting demands that we teach our children lessons, so that they become successful citizens in this crazy world of ours!  It's been a very fulfilling experience and one that I could not replace with any other.  In addition to me teaching life lessons to my son, he educates me in so many ways and shares his humor at the most opportune moments!!  He reminds me that sometimes life doesn't have to be serious!
